Westchester
Flying Club

Welcome. The Westchester Flying Club provides safe, convenient and economical flying to its members, along with the social and educational benefits of spending time with like minded pilots. Our 75 member club is based at Westchester County Airport (HPN) and has been here since the 1960s.
Club Meetings are the 2nd Tuesday of each month.

6 Aircraft

We maintain a fleet including of fixed gear Archers, Complex/Retractable Arrows, and high performance Bonanzas.

Modern Avionics

While some of our aircraft maintain some of the more traditional steam gauges, all aircraft have WAAS approved GPS Navigators and typically some degree of migration to glass panels.

Over 60 Pilots

We maintain a reasonable pilot-to-aircraft ratio and use both procedures and comptuer reservations systems to maintain accessbility and fairness.

NYC Suburb Locations

Aircraft currently located at White Plains, NY, and Danbury, CT. Convenient to Westchester, NY and Fairfield, CT counties, and NYC.

There’s really no more affordable way to be able to fly so many aircraft for both training up to more advanced aircraft or typical persona/family casual flights. We’ve got the benefits of ownership, with more generous polices that can be found at most FBO rentals. (Such as tach time based billing and no minimums for overnights, and more.)

As one of the Club’s several Maintenance Coordinators, I’ve enjoyed not only flying, but also learning how to be a better aircraft owner. We keep our fleet well maintained, and every time we do an upgrade or run through an annual inspection, we’re always learning something new and interesting about flying.

Over the years I’ve found that the flying club is likely the best, most affordable way I could have chosen to get access to multiple aircraft for both training and family trips. There’s been a nice upgrade path from Archers to retractable Arrows through high performance Bonanzas. Not sure where else that’s eve possible.
